CELEBRATE THE FESTIVE SEASON
WITH OUR ESF CHRISTMAS CARD

The joy of Christmas was the inspiration for our talented student Rihanna Chen, who has created the beautiful design of this year’s ESF card.

“My aim was to create an art piece conveying the message that Christmas can bring so much light and happiness to everyone – even if they weren’t feeling their best before,” says 13-year-old Rihanna, who is a Year 9 student at ESF South Island School.

“I used the night sky to represent darkness and the lights on the Christmas tree to show joy. The star symbolises the heart of Christmas since it is a holiday that brings delight to everyone.”

Rihanna’s art was selected by our Chief Executive Officer, Belinda Greer, and is the result of an ESF-wide Christmas card competition that saw hundreds of students submitting tremendous designs featuring everything from Santa’s workshop and gingerbread houses to snow globes and skiing reindeer.

Belinda made a special visit to ESF South Island School to congratulate Rihanna on her outstanding achievement.

“The spirit of Christmas shines through in Rihanna’s heart-warming design and will undoubtedly bring joy and festive cheer to all who receive it,” says Belinda.

“The skill and creativity demonstrated during this year’s Christmas art challenge was incredibly impressive, so well done to Rihanna and all our talented student participants from K1 to Year 13.”

ESF South Island School Principal Carolyn Andrews says she couldn’t be more proud of her amazing student. Carolyn says: “As a community, we congratulate Rihanna on this remarkable achievement and wish her a wonderful holiday season filled with the light she has so beautifully captured.”

Rihanna’s art teacher Hannah Smylie also joined the celebrations saying: “Rihanna consistently delivers work that showcases her exciting and innovative ideas as she courageously pushes the limits, takes risks and embraces experimentation. It’s so lovely to see her win.”

We hope you will enjoy sharing this wonderful Christmas card with your community.
