Kim Anderson is a mother of two children, both of whom study at King George V School. Her youngest daughter has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and is currently in the Learning Support Class at the school.
Her primary Special Needs focus has been with physical disability and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). Mrs Anderson has been instrumental in setting up support groups at both Clearwater Bay School and across Hong Kong (Special Needs Network) for parents of children with Special Education Needs (SEN).
Mrs Anderson was a Parent Elected Representative on the Clearwater Bay School Council and currently holds the same position on the King George V School Council where she has worked on a number of programmes including a sub-group to audit policies and 'Health and Wellness' initiatives. She has served as a member of staffing subcommittees at both schools.
Mrs Anderson taught at newly-opened Sha Tin Junior School and was later seconded into an ESF-wide 'assessment' role. Before coming to Hong Kong, she taught in the UK for nine years at secondary and middle schools.
