This is the second year in which all six ESF schools entered students for IB Diploma examinations.  ESF schools are extremely proud to announce that they achieved 15% points above the world percentage for those students achieving the IB Diploma and this represents a further 2% increase from 2009.  ESF is an inclusive schooling system which educates students of all abilities and therefore teachers in all schools were delighted to achieve an average score of 33.5.  It shows progress beyond the 2009 average score of 32.8.  This score is likely to improve with remarks and appeals.  Some students achieved 43, 44 and 45 points, demonstrating that ESF schools also are able to achieve a great deal of success with the most talented students.  Congratulations to all those students on achieving the IB Diploma and also to those who will have secured a wide range of higher education places across the world.  Over the summer, the schools will be actively supporting those students who may not have yet secured a higher education offer based on their achievements.

All the percentages of scores for the IB Diploma are above world percentages and these have all improved since last year.  The most significant statistic, given the inclusive nature of ESF schools, is that there has been a 7% improvement in students achieving 30 points or more.  Furthermore, there has also been a 4% improvement in those achieving 35 points or more and over 1% in those achieving 40 or more.  Bilingual Diplomas are achieved when students study two languages at native or near native level.  There were some significant successes in English/Chinese, English/Japanese, English/Danish, and English/Korean.  The forty-seven students who achieved the Bilingual Diploma should be congratulated as they will be extremely employable in their future careers.  Continued improvement in student attainment of the Bilingual Diploma remains a goal for ESF.
