As we finish our third week of school, I am hopeful that you have seen an increased level of engagement and interaction between the teachers and your children. We appreciate the online experience cannot compare to being in the classroom and we absolutely share your frustration that we still aren’t permitted to resume classes in school.
I have joined a few online lessons to meet some of our Y1 students and to see for myself how well they are engaging with their new teachers. Principals and teachers are continuously reviewing and refining approaches to online learning and I want to thank you for your support and feedback on this, which many principals are sharing with me.
Yesterday’s meeting with the Education Bureau (EDB) was positive and indicated that we are moving closer to having a date when students can return to school. We continue to work with the principals on our ‘return to school’ models, aiming to bring back your children as quickly and seamlessly as possible within the EDB guidelines.
I will be in touch with you as soon as we have any information about the timing of the return to school. In the meantime, we will continue to support your children with their learning online and we look forward to welcoming them, and you, back into our schools.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
