Mr Stephen Weatherseed graduated from the University of Durham with a joint honours degree in Economics and Law and, after a year as President of the Students’ Union, started his career in London, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He first came to live in Hong Kong in 1989. He is currently Senior Director with Mazars and his work includes acting as a statutory auditor, advising on transactions and forensic investigations, performing valuations and acting as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
In addition to his work responsibilities, Stephen is an elected council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, an Honorary Adviser to the Financial Reporting Council and Honorary Treasurer of the Ladies’ Recreation Club. He is also a member of the Europe Committee of the HK General Chamber of Commerce (where he was Chairman from 2015 to 2018), and a member of the British, French, German and American Chambers of Commerce.
