Mr David Graham

Mr David Graham has lived and worked in Hong Kong since the end of 1998, apart from a brief spell back in London. He is a lawyer qualified in both England/Wales and Hong Kong and, during his legal career, worked in Paris, New York, London, and Hong Kong. He was a partner in Freshfields, a leading international law firm, until 2001 and since then has held various regional and global General Counsel roles at a number of major investment banks, namely Morgan Stanley , UBS and Nomura. From 2013 until 2019, he was Chief Regulatory Officer and Head of Listing at the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and from 2020 to 2023 was Executive Director at the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. He has been the Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong Takeovers and Mergers Panel and a member of the UK Takeovers Panel, and has sat on various Committees of the Securities and Futures Commission.

He retired in mid-2023 and divides his time between Hong Kong, London and Australia. He has two daughters who are both lawyers now living in London and who both attended Peak School and Island School. He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of Outward Bound Hong Kong.

He is a graduate of Oxford University with a degree in Jurisprudence and is currently a member of the Rector’s Council of the college he attended.
