The Cognitive Affective Training (CAT) Kit

1 March, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

HK$300

The Cognitive Affective Training (CAT) Kit is a program that consists of visual, interactive, and customisable communication elements for children and young adults. It is designed to help students become aware of how their thoughts, feelings and actions all interact and, in the process of using the various visual components, they share their insights with others.

This session draws on the experience of staff at Beacon Hill School who have been using the CAT-Kit with students over the last few years. Using the practical resources contained within the CAT-Kit and adapting them to meet the needs of Social Thinking groups, staff at the school have found the tool to be an excellent supplement to the curriculum already used in school.

Participants will leave the session with:
• Increased familiarity of the CAT-Kit
• Greater understanding of how the CAT Kit can be used
• Ideas for practical ways that the CAT-Kit can be used, in class or in small groups, to support students’ emotional regulation and social thinking skills

Suitable for upper primary & secondary teachers.
