I know that many of you have been wondering what impact the current suspension of in-school classes might have on the recently announced Student Grant Scheme. I wanted to write to you to give you the latest ESF wide position.
The first thing to stress is that we have received assurances from the Government that the scheme will still operate. It has not been cancelled as a result of the current situation. So, we are still looking for you to access the forms, fill them in and get them back to your school. We will then collect and collate them and get them back to the Education Bureau for processing.
However, with access to school currently suspended, we have taken the decision to extend the deadline for you to submit your forms to your school until close of play on Friday 6 March. If the current suspension of in-school classes is extended beyond its current timeframe, then we will again review this date and come back to you.
Again, I want to stress to you that the scheme will still operate and that nobody is going to miss out as a result of the current situation. All that has changed is that we have extended the deadline for you to submit your forms.
I hope that this provides you with some reassurance.
On behalf of everyone at ESF, thank you for your continued support.
