Born in Kolkata, Mr Peter Burnett first came to work in Hong Kong in 1995 and apart from three years in the Middle East, has lived here ever since. He has worked in financial services throughout his career, first as a Chartered Accountant based in London and then as a banker in London, Hong Kong and Dubai.
He first came to Hong Kong as the Head of Equity Capital Markets in Asia at UBS before becoming the Regional Head of Investment Banking. He joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2013 as the Regional Head of Corporate Finance. His particular areas of expertise include capital markets, advisory and M&A and structured corporate; ending. He was elected Chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong in 2018 and also serves on the Hong Kong Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Peter is a graduate of the University of Oxford and is married with three daughters. all of whom were born in Hong Kong.
