ESF Film Awards 2009

ESF Film Awards 2009

Nick Schmitt, Nathan Minsberg and Jonathan Shupack of Island School discuss scripts, camera angles and editing issues.
The inaugural ESF Film Awards were held on May 14 at the fantastic, purpose-built 300 seat auditorium at Discovery College.  Alongside the two senior film students from KGV (Kento Fukomori & Louise Archer) who did a magnificent job as MCs on the night; a range of ESF VIPs were invited to present the beautiful etched glass awards with honours distributed between Bradbury, Beacon Hill and Discovery College in the primary awards. The hosts took the Best Film award in the primary section with Lego Wars also taking The Best Silent Film award.

The 11-16 years age group was dominated by South Island whilst the fiercely contested senior awards were split between KGV, Island School and South Island. The Best Film award in the secondary section was taken by South Island with their well-received Italian neo-realist inspired, Maid.
