CNY celebration at West Island School

Every year the Chinese Faculty along with students at ESF West Island School put on a spectacular assembly to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

This year’s assembly began with a Lion Dance which is believed to bring good luck and prosperity. Students then put on a number of musical and dance performances which enthralled the school and demonstrated the many talents of our students.

The school was also treated to a beautiful piece of professional Chinese opera which was organised by the WIS PTA.  To end the celebrations, the Language Faculty got together and performed a popular Chinese song – always a hit with our students! It was a colourful event and the perfect way to bring in the Year of the Pig!
