‘Spoken language is the single most important skill that children need for school.’ (Ann Locke)

This 1-day workshop, developed by ESF teachers and advisers, aims to support learning outcomes in listening and speaking.

Making connections to the ESF Scope and Sequence and informed by a wide range of research and practical resources (including First Steps, PYP and TESLMC) the aims of the session will be to:

– Develop understanding of effective listening and speaking

– Explore current practice, research and pedagogy

– Share practical resources and approaches to teaching and learning

– Apply understandings to planning and assessment
Teachers will leave the session with a practical toolbox of idea and resources to support teaching and learning.
