In this workshop, participants will explore play as a vehicle for learning.

Participants will learn about the different types of play, the role of the teacher in supporting and developing inquiry through play, and how teachers can better plan for learning through play. Participants will learn about the importance of play in child development and what children are learning during the different types of play. Participants will be introduced to a model for planning playful learning experiences to support units of inquiry and subject skills. The role of the learning environment and resources to support open-ended learning will also be explored.
