School Fees for the 2021/22 Academic Year

Dear Parents,

The resumption of all of our children back in school for these final two weeks of term has been a strong signal of school life starting to return to a degree of normality.

Life remains, of course, far from normal; recovery will take time and the educational and social challenges will continue for us all. Both globally and locally, the impact of COVID on the economy has been massive, with far-reaching consequences for many of our families. The number of families applying for financial assistance has increased this year and whilst we are experiencing more withdrawals than usual, enrolment across ESF remains high.

Our budget planning for next year must take into account the current economic pressures in Hong Kong. Against this background the ESF Board has taken the decision not to increase school fees for 2021-2022, in order to help all of our families.

I understand that this, of course, will be welcome news and marks the second year without a fee increase. Given the serious economic circumstances we all currently face, we must take prudent measures now so that we continue to be well prepared to face the future with confidence.

Thank you for your messages of support and gratitude in recognition of the work done to bring back all of our students to class.

I would wish you all a relaxing holiday.
