Unwrapping the Joy: ESF’s New Christmas Card

We are thrilled to announce that a wonderful painting by Luke Xu, a six-year-old student at Quarry Bay School, has been selected as the design for this year’s ESF Christmas Card!

Luke’s artwork stood out in an ESF-wide creative challenge that saw impressive submissions from students across all age groups (K1 to Year 13). The contest truly highlighted how art is a vital channel for our students to express themselves, featuring a diverse range of techniques including sketches, collages, digital design, and illustrations.

During a visit to Quarry Bay School, our Chief Executive Officer, Belinda Greer, had the pleasure of speaking with Luke about his winning design. Luke shared that art is one of his favourite subjects, and he particularly enjoys painting and “bringing stories to life.”

Belinda praised Luke’s thoughtful composition, saying she was really impressed by the way he used bold colours to express his imagination.

Luke’s teacher, Mona Abidi, highlighted his attention to detail, noting that he likes to develop his ideas carefully and often creates several drafts before beginning his final piece.

Quarry Bay School Principal Sue Yee shared with us that the whole school community is extremely proud of Luke and his great achievement.
