Advance Fees for the 2013/14 Academic Year (ESF Schools)
We are writing to provide details about the action you should take to reserve your child’s school place for the academic year 2013/14 through making an advance payment of September’s fees as a surety. The reason for this measure is to give schools better information about the students intending to take up a place for next academic year and hence to enable us to offer any unfilled places to students on our waiting lists as early as possible.
Advance fees for the students in the following year groups next academic year (2013/14) are as follows:-

|Secondary students ||Year 12 to Year 13 ||HK$10,200|
Advance fees will be used to offset tuition fees for September 2013. If there is a revision of fees in the new school year, the difference will be payable in September 2013.
Advance fees are not applicable to Year 1 and Year 7 students and students in other year groups newly enrolled to ESF in 2013/14 as their school places are secured by an admission deposit instead. Students who have paid the Refundable Capital Levy (RCL) at the time of enrolment are exempt from the advance fees payment.
We reserve the right to reallocate any places not secured by payment of advance fees or RCL after 1 August 2013.
- Following the mandatory Direct Debit arrangement in 2011/12, advance fees will be debited from your designated bank account on 1 August 2013. Please ensure sufficient funds are in the account to cover the payment.
- If your Direct Debit Authorisation is yet to be set up or monthly tuition fees are being settled by HKSAR government or by your employer directly, please return the enclosed cheque payment slip together with a crossed cheque made payable to “English Schools Foundation” to “G.P.O. Box 11284, Hong Kong” before 18 July 2013. (NB: Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted.)
Students not returning to school next academic year
If your child is not returning to school in the next academic year, please complete the student withdrawal notice and return it to your child’s school by post or via e-mail before 1 June 2013. Otherwise, we shall assume that your child is returning to school after the summer break and the advance fee will be debited from your bank account on 1 August 2013. Once the advance fee has been paid, it is non-refundable even if the student does not subsequently return to school.
For parents who have paid RCL, it is essential to return the student withdrawal notice to school before 1 June 2013 if your child is not returning to school in the next academic year. Otherwise, one month’s advance fee will be withheld upon refund of the RCL.
If you have already notified the school in writing that your child will not be returning to the school, please disregard this letter and the withdrawal notice.
