Year 1 ESF Central Application Procedures for Admission in 2012/2013

Year 1 Central Application Period is 1 -30 September 2011.

Children born in 2007 are due to start Year 1 at the beginning of the Academic Year 2012-2013.

Applications for Year 1 should be made on Year 1 Central Online Application Form. Supporting documents along with a copy of your completed online application form should be sent by registered mail to the English Schools Foundation, Year 1 Central Admissions, 25/F, Fortis Centre, 1063 King's Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong.

An email acknowledgement will be sent to you upon submission of the online application form. It is important valid email addresses are provided on your online form as general correspondence will be through email.

1.      All applications received with payment of application fee on or before 30 September 2011 will be processed in random order, assigned a computer generated sequential number and placed in the relevant category. All applications are considered at the same time after the deadline, and not in the order of submission. However, we suggest to parents not to wait until the Central Admissions deadline of 30 September 2011 to submit the online application. Applications received after 30 September 2011 will be prioritised by category and date of application.
 
2.      Applications will be allocated to individual ESF schools based on the geographic distribution of the applicants. Children with siblings in or with family links to an ESF primary school will be allowed to be interviewed for that school.
 
3.      Schools will then contact applicants individually by letter in early December 2011 to invite for interviews in January 2012 in the order determined in item 1 above.
 
4.      Applicants will be informed individually by mail whether they will be offered a place at the school.
 
5.      Applicants not offered an interview in the first round will be placed on the waiting list in category order and be considered for a possible second round of interviews.
 
Deposit Payment and Refundable Capital Levy Payment:
  1. Those offered a place in the first round of interviews will be required to pay both the deposit and the Refundable Capital Levy to confirm acceptance of the place by 17 February 2012.
  2. Those offered places subsequently will be required to pay both the deposit and the Refundable Capital Levy within the time frame specifiedin the final offer letter.
